René Laulajainen known by his artistic name as 'René' was born in Finland in 1952.

Today he lives with his wife in Sweden and together they have raised 4 children.René has been traveling as an evangelist for 26 years, singing and preaching about what Jesus has done in his life. He
has mainly beentouring in Finland and Asia, particularly in Singapore and Korea (David Yonggi Cho:s Yoido Full Gospel Church).

René's vision has been Jesus words in Acts 1:8: "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.""When I was 19 years old, I had an incurable disease. The best doctors in Finland did their best and I had to go through many operations. Eventually the doctors gave up, they couldn't do anything; thessincurable disease became worse and it was only a matter of time until I was dead. I was sent home to spend my last days with my family.

One night I was walking the streets of my hometown and thinking: 'I am walking these streets for the last time.' That night I met some Christian youths and they invited me to a Christian service. I went and in that service the youths were sharing and singing about what Jesus had done in their lives. At
the end of the service they prayed for me when I said that I wanted Jesus to come in to my life.

That night I felt that Jesus Christ forgave my sins and God's peace descended upon me.

One night the preacher Samuel Doctorian was in town and he prayed for people that were sick.
I went and told him that I was so severely diseased that the doctors could no longer help me. He put his hand on my head and said: "Jesus you can!" and in that moment I felt an electric current surging through my diseased body and a medical miracle took place.

It has now been 35 years since I was miraculously healed and several doctors have verified that a healing indeed took place on the 10th of April 1973.

I have felt that my main purpose that the Lord has give me is to be His witness and go and tell people about Jesus and what he has done in my life."René has been singing and preaching fulltime for the last 26 years to
millions of people in churches, restaurants, squares, and many have opened their hearts to Jesus and become Christians through his songs and witnessing.

On the 2nd of September 2007 René received his 3rd gold record in Finland. No other gospel singer in Finland has achieved this. René has sold over 200 000 albums.
He has released 13 albums in Finnish and 2 in English.
